Mission Statement

Founded in 1870, Colorado State University has evolved from its humble beginning as a land-grant institution and research University to its current stature as a leader in higher education in the state, nation and world.  The strength of the CSU’s Continuing Education program is backed by more than 40 years of experience. Online and distance education – plus Learning Centers along the Front Range – give students who are not able to attend classes on-campus access to a CSU education, and provide professional development opportunities to the corporate community.

CSU’s Continuing Education offers accredited undergraduate degree completion programs, accredited graduate degrees, and professional development training and certificate programs. Academic areas of excellence include engineering, organizational performance, and educational leadership. Our commitment to distance and online learning gives students the flexibility to set their own pace and choose the most convenient time and place to study. Classes offered via Continuing Education use the same faculty and content as on-campus programs, and students enrolled in these courses receive many of the same benefits as on-campus students.

Admission

Undergraduate: Apply for admission to Undergraduate Degree Completion Programs at www.admission.colostate.edu. Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA; priority consideration is given to transfer applicants who have earned a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA in 24 or more college-level, academic semester credits. The number of credits that can be transferred differs by program; check with advisers for more information.

Graduate:  Apply for admission to Graduate Programs at http://graduateschool.colostate.edu/ . Applicants must have a minimum undergraduate 3.0 cumulative GPA in order to be considered for admission. Track II admission, which does not require the GRE, is available for some programs for individuals who have at least five years of appropriate professional experience and a baccalaureate degree. Specific requirements – including undergraduate GPA, specific GRE minimum scores, and GRE advances tests – vary by degree, so be sure to check with the adviser in the specific department well in advance of the application deadline for more information.

Students can take courses before being officially admitted to a degree program (check with an adviser to see how many credits can be taken before admission and still be applied to the degree completion requirements).

Continuing Education uses RamCT as its online learning platform to conduct all online credit courses. It provides user-friendly access to course materials, discussion groups, assignments, exams, chat, and other learner services.
