Arapahoe Community College is a comprehensive two-year public institution offering a variety of academic, vocational, and technical classes and programs. With an average student age of 28 and over 60% of our students in the workforce, we pride ourselves on our programs and services for non-traditional students.

Degrees:

Four year transfer Associate degrees in Arts, Business and Science. Career and technical Associates degrees in General Studies and Applied Sciences.

Certificate Programs:

Certificates are offered in a variety of career and technical program areas.

Schedule:

Weekday and evening classes offered on a 15-week semester system. Other instructional modes utilized by the college include five to seven week courses, on-line courses, weekend classes, independent study, and hybrid.

Admission:

General admissions is granted to any person 17 years of age and older who can benefit from the instruction. Assessment of basic skills is required of new students / degree seeking students. Certain technical programs may have special admissions requirements.

Tuition:

Certificate Programs:

Various certificates are available within the Master of Business Administration. Certificates usually require four courses and these credits may be applied to a master’s degree should you wish to continue your education.

Schedule:

Courses taken within degree and certificate programs are offered in five weeks (counseling), and seven weeks (all other degrees) formats.  Courses usually meet one evening per week or on a weekend format, and the hours of the class vary according to format.  Many students find that they can reach their goals faster by taking more than one course per session.  Some courses, certificates and degrees, are offered online.  Most courses are offered in a multi-method format using a combination of both online and on site instruction.

Admission:

The Bachelor’s degree program allows for transfer of credits and must be evaluated by the chair of the program.  Master’s degree programs require a bachelor’s degree and an undergraduate gpa of 3.0 but waivers for 2.7 or greater can be granted on a case by case basis.  Doctoral Degrees require a 3.0 gpa in their Master’s Degree but waivers for 2.7 or greater can be granted on case by case basis.  Certificate programs generally do not require an undergraduate degree, although courses are taught at the graduate level.  Transfer credits will be considered on a case by case basis for individuals having a “C” or better in undergraduate courses and a “B” or better in graduate courses.

Admission

When you apply for admission, you will automatically be admitted if you are 17 or older.  Remember, admission to the college does not assure acceptance into any specific program.

New and continuing students may apply by one of three methods:

  • In person at the Admissions, Registration and Records in South Classroom 133.

High school juniors and seniors may take courses and earn credit at CCD for college and high school credit under certain conditions.  Contact your high school counselor for more information.

Residency Information

You are classified as a Colorado resident or non-resident for tuition purposes determined by the Colorado Tuition Classification Law based on the information you provided on your admissions application.

Residency status is determined by the first day of the term.  If a student is admitted after the first day of the term, his/her initial residency will be determined within 10 business days of his/her admission decision.
